Thanks! I'm afraid I don't have time at the moment to do a tutorial, and I'd also need to upgrade it to the latest versions of Unity, since it was done a while ago.

It was a while ago and I don't remember the specifics, but something like that. The blurred images were created at runtime at initialization, and compacted into one texture.

Hi @doradoro indie games , sorry, I didn't see your comment. It's nothing fancy, apart from the image it requires creating beforehand a grayscale representation of the "depth" of the picture (so, say, black for the nearest point and white for the furthest). It uses that grayscale image to blur only some parts of the picture, and also scales slightly some parts to make the effect more noticeable.
