Matthew MurchisonSuch a great guide to forest design, thank you! Do you use your own shader for foliage or do you find unity's built in foliage shaders (and terrain/wind tools I suppose) are good enough?
Sorry I missed the comments on this! I wrote my own foliage shader using Unity's surface shaders with a custom lighting function. Getting a fully deferred translucent shader was quite difficult, as it required writing new data to the gbuffer and replace the default Internal-DeferredShading.shader

Great article, interesting ! It would be really nice if you also write a technical one as you said, I'll be very intersted to read it ! Good job =D

@Daniel Weinbaum For Building a Flexible Day/Night Cycle with Simple Parts, what method do you used? By using skyboxes, and then you blend it or you just use a default sky and add some cloud?

After years of thinking about it I finally integrated this into one of my projects! It works so well (just objects, so scripts). Neon challenge here I come! Thanks again for the info, here is my modest reproduction (WIP): https://connect.unity.com/p/unlikely-oasis

Hey Matthew! A little late I know. I don't log into this Unity connect thing much I'm afraid :(. Missed your message. Anyhow thanks for checking out the article! Glad it was of some use. And thanks for the kind words :). Best in all your endeavors!
I read your unity article about weather systems when it came out, and I've found myself going back every few months! Your game looks amazing, I can't wait to play it.
