A work in progress. A facial animation rig in Maya that uses a blendshape to reposition joints allowing it to be reshaped to fit different faces. This 'mask' also holds all the blendshapes to drive expressions and poses. This means all the animations made on the rig are retargetable to any face. The workflow is improved by using the same topology on all the characters so that the weights can be transferred as well. This rig supports facial motion capture as well, FaceWare Retargeter makes the process pretty trivial.
