In 2013, I made a formal presentation to Thinkwell, suggesting that we use the Unity game engine to simulate and pre-visualize attractions as they are being designed. In the weeks leading up to the proposal, I created several demo simulations from current projects and teased them on our internal company website. Programming, FX, and lighting by me, models by others. The proposal was accepted and now this is a regular part of my responsibilities. I have since developed tools and software within the Unity engine to make the simulation of ride systems faster, easier, and more accurate.
