The scene I propose to do will be based around a revolt by the citizens of an underground city. A city that has been oppressed by the government and higher classes.
This will be a scene of celebration after the very recent battle at the beginning of the revolt. Bright colours will replace the grey industrial boundaries of where these people have been forced to work and live, showing the beginning of their new world.

First WIP day
Starting to create the assets needed to build up this chaotic shanty style scene.
I'm using a somewhat "old school" method of using edited photography and building it up into 3d. This method has been very effective in the past with the racing games I have worked on. This technique allows for a great amount of detail to be applied quickly, which is exactly what I need to do to be able to compete in my very little spare time!
This is probably 15% of what I need as I would like to avoid repetition as much as possible. I'll post every time I have completed these "mini packs". Although this approach works for distance objects, more detail will be needed when objects are nearer the camera.
Second WIP day
Added some new assets to create a building kitbash. A few more building and I can start to compose the scene......finally
