Introduction about myself
My Name is Sascha 28yrs old and iam an classical 3D Artist / Modeler - working for a small studio in Germany
my common tasks are ArchViz or Product modeling for the Industry.
iam working for about 1 year now with unity - more for Personal Testing und learning.
So iam pretty new to unity - and this Challenge is my First Enviroment art i have ever done so far.
The Programms iam very used to are:
Introduction about my Project.
first when i saw the Concept art with this Big truck i instant felt in love with that one - and the Idea for the Blackmarket was born. The plan was to Create a Darky smokey Place where Crime is home.
so i made this Concept art based on the one what was already There
But while Working on this Project i stumpeld in the Asset store over this Asset:
The Building Kit from Mojo Structure - and i tought - why not Doing something like Cowboy vs Aliens thing - rather than a Blackmarket - so ive taken a look at the other Projects and made the descissions that there are enough Dark Neon Future Cities outthere - so i did the Change of plans.

Kitbash Time - Today i have taken a Classic Train from Turbosquid and the Kitbash set from Andrew Averkin.
To create this Steampunk- scifi Turboengine Train
The next and last steps in this Project are - Painting the Train
and Post Processing, post processing and so on.

Today i changed the start and Final Scene - also added some Vegetation so i tought - why not doing Tree Holos ?
so i found this here on github
for the case i just used my SciFi Crate - scaled it down and used a box for the Shiny Red Ring - Cheap but it doing tis job very well :D

So Finally i think thats it.. i will use these Cameras and Dollys as my Final.
Today i worked on the "Final Scene"
Therefore i used the "ManinSuit" assets
and the Japanese Mask - to give this Mystersios Black agent look.

Today i worked on the "Alien Crime Scene" - i though what would happen after the aliens shot this robot - right - in future cities they get arrested by some Drones... - the Drone i used is this one

Today was Particel effects and Substance Day..
also made some minior Changes like the Talking Bandits or the New Floor and Railsystem
and i painted some Kyle Robots in Substance Painter
At beginnig hat some BIG TROUBLE with the Part. Effects - in Editor everythin was fine - but in Play mode the Effects Flew around or get scaled really big and all that anyoing stuff..But then i got a tipp by Angelo Jusay
he Said it could be something with the Spritespeets or smiliar - so after a bit tweeking around - if fixed it..
The Solution in mycase was to Change the Spritesheet Renderer to Geometry - so if you guys have similiar weirdness going on.. maybe this could help you.
i used the Flatcar Kit - for the Woodenfloor it is the "CarBody"
and the Railing Kit for - yeah right - the Rails
i also Changed the painting of 2 "Robotkyles" - i Painted them in Substance - and Used the Org. Normal Map from the Unity Team - just for the sake of safing time

Maybe i will work on the UV´s later on.. because they are not really perfect to be honest - but for the first outcome i really like the Change of the look
i also really like the Cinemachine Dolly Track thing.
I nearly use it for every aniamtion - even the Walking Robot.therefore i created a own Dolly Track -
Downloaded this " Catwalk" Animation From Mixamo

Parented the Robot to the Dollytrack and Played the Animation -
and that all without any line Code - Awesome
So since the last time , my Project Changed quite a lot :D
less Neon ..more Fun.. (i think there are enough NEON city projects out there)
Even when it´s 2687 and Everything is fxxxked up.. there is always time for party!
so .. had some trouble with my unity the last days.. But i fixed it now :-D
i will make a bigger Update Later on.
But i changed the Concept a bit.. There is now to much "Neon Sign Cities" ongoing here in this contest for my taste..
so will i starting modeling the Big Truck i made descission that is going to be a big huge train - an i make a now a neon scfi nomad western whatever thing :D

yesterday we worked (me and LangiXL) on the Audio tracks and SoundFX for the Challenge - turned out pretty well !
Use Headphones for best experience :D Theres a bit too much of motion blur going on , but thats not a big deal
Changed the Intro Animation a bit.
My Dear Friend and College Meik has done a really great "Ground Smash" Animation, which turned out really great in Unity ! Cheers for That!

So yesterday i made the decission that my intro is to Boring - so i changed it a bit - just kidding - i did a complete different story - very much inspired by Deadpool and Prey 2 , 2011 Trailer - Hope you like it
Next Wip - Created some more Lighting and Assets..
also Did a small Backyard gangster Scene - still in work - but i really like the Drinking robot :D
Hes working as a Bouncer there , i guess.. maybe i will let him throw away his drink and starting to moving forwards the Cam.. We wil see...

Starting to build the City. Test Upload for 4K Res.
Going to make a "driving" Blackmarket , very much inspired by the Concept art of this Truck Thing.
The mood iam going to use is like in one of my favorite Games from the early days " Shufflepuck" no idea if anyone of you know it :-D or like the old PS1 "Bladerunner" , Fallout and so on..
I will try to create a very dark mood and a really crowded place - like a food market in asia - just with bad guys every
and a Flying drive in (FlyInn) at the Front side of this Truck Thing..
Sorry for the not perfect "Photobash" it is not my biggest strengh out there - Better in modeling and texturing :D

So Guys today was the first day i had some time off - to jump into Unity .. First thing i would like to Establish is the Lighting -
i think the whole Project will Fail or succeed with this..
Not quit perfect because i had only about 1.5 Hours - but this is the First Output..
i also model a really quick and dirty Tent in Max

Lighting also Sucks
Compositing of all that Stuff - Sucks aswell... :/
So i decided to make a change an Split the Project into two Main Parts.
First one is going to be "Nomads City" where the Camera flys trough.
My Impression on this is - that is going to look like a Futuristic Arabic Scenery which is Hovering over the Ground
The Street and the Buildings are Flying and they are connect via small Bridges..

Still had some Time Today - to Pack this into Unity - and Play around a bit with the Lighting - i think i start to like what i got here.Next steps going to Model - the Houses/shops .. will do it with Substance Painter/Max .. maaaaaybe Zbrush - classic high/low Poly Modeling..
And i also Started with some Assets here and there ...
i will make later on a list of what i have Downloaded it is a lot - everything i found in the Asset Store what might be useful ( FREE only) i have downloaded :-D

my Trailer and the First Seconds for the NEON Challenge .. Did just a blockout for this Trailer, because i changed my strategie and Focus now first on the Timelight, Cameras, Cut, Audio - Post Processor and Lighting - after that i will Pump it up with Assets ,Models etc... Beause i think it is wasting time to push in assets if its not clear for me when and were the Camera is looking at
The Movie will Split into 4 Main Parts:
1. Fly over The City
2. The City
3. The Elevator
4. The Deep Heart " The Black Market"
The Audio was made by a good friend of me.. couple of years ago he worked as profesional DJ - so it was clear - he had to the Track - Thanks for that LangiXL
