the Big Hole

Introduction

Hi, I started in the game industry in 2002 in a small studio aiming to do at this time, the first Bulgarian 3D game. Afterwards I had the opportunity to work on many projects for different companies that are more than 15 so detail enlisting might not be necessary here. The most important for me are the first Bulgarian MMORPG, my work on Assassin Creed series by Ubisoft. Two years ago me and a colleague of mine established our own game development team.
Here I will present to you my idea about the Neon City.
The Great Hole as most are calling it. In truth its original name is GMK named after the first mining corporation built the small mining settlement in Colony 66. It turned to a city and developed fast on the limited foundation, therefore the modular constructions were being usually placed vertically up the sky. The name “The Big Hole” came after the legalization of the glowing narcotic that was sold in every night club. Some took it even by direct injection in the brain. No one remembered how this legislation happened as after extensive use of the narcotic the subjects literally turned to zombies. Also, no one knew which of the five mining companies rules the city anymore. There are rumors that they don't exist anymore and the city is maintained by drones flying everywhere. Some said that up there in the central tower, beneath the spinning logo resides the Lord of Drones... This might be a rumor after all.

Week 1
.I want to do a mining town that has developed into a big urban center. To begin with, I made a 3d concept view from playholders.
City name is GMK, named for biggest mining corporation in this city, but every one know this city like the Big Hole.
I know it's very confused now. I go for the logical layout of the main Urban buildings units.

First buildings, I use patterns texture from the free package - Yughues Free Metal Materials. Some of them I have developed and changed.
