Laser Harp Hero is a rythm game similar to Guitar Hero, on a much smaller scale and using VR. It is my first VR project. I completed it as a class assignment in advanced 3D interfaces, in which we either had to create a game related to music or simulate an instrument and add proper UI and UX. I chose to fulfill both and throwing in some VR functionalities for a more immersive experience!

Put on your headset and grab your two HTC vive joystick and try to play the 3 classics game songs proposed, or roll your own in free style mode ! *How it's made* This project used a few assets from the asset store : SteamVR plugin : https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/32647 Academy Theater : https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/75378 Lasers with Volumetric Lines : https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/29160 Animated orbital menus we blatantly ripped of from VR Samples and re-skinned : https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/51519 Music scores and songs comes from musescore.com Zelda : https://musescore.com/luxor/the-legend-of-zelda-theme Morrowind : https://musescore.com/user/10716151/scores/2337881 Tetris: https://musescore.com/isaac_culver/tetris-theme-a
The game parses musicxml files to create a waterfall of objects that matches each key, duration and correct timing to reproduce a song. In listen mode, the waterfall objects are falling towards the player and plays every laser key when hit. Each laser key has it's value displayed under it, ranging from C5 to B6 including half steps. In play mode, the waterfall is just a helper to remind the player which lasers to play, when to play and for how long.
