Sacred Citadel is an intense side-scrolling arcade brawler for up to 3 players. Different skill sets, RPG features, collectible items, exchangeable weapons, combo attacks and more combine into a fluid and unique arcade game experience with sophisticated graphics and spectacular effects. The players can also ride mounts, use war machines and spend his hard earned cash in towns all over the world of Sacred Citadel.
I joined this project at a later stage in its development. Originally it was only supposed to support local multiplayer but half-way through development the publishers decided that online multiplayer was a requirement so I was hired to turn the entire existing architecture that was designed for local play only into one that supported real-time multiplayer on all major platforms:
Real-time online multiplayer gameplay on all platforms.
Network profiling and optimizations. Package compression and priority systems.
Online features like matchmaking, game invites, achievements, leaderboards and rich presence for XBLA, PSN, and STEAM.
