Portals are best suited for indoor scenes
We've been create a portal-culling-plugin for Unity Asset Store.
Prepare
  • Create sectors, and portals
  • Add a visibility component to game objects
  • Enable portal culling components and set camera
  • [No need to bake]
In-game
  • Find activity sector and visible portals
  • Test visibility for game objects in view frustum, and disable the rendering of objects which is not overlapped with volumes
Improve the performance of rendering
