The company I was working on decided our next game (After a very small racing game for mobile devices) was going to be a space game. Brainstorming started and evolved quickly and soon we had an idea for a game in which you played as an astronaut that had to fix space stations. The gameplay was to be a mixture of navigating zero gravity in 2D and puzzle solving on the space stations.
My idea for the music was to have atmospheric pads for the space element, acoustic guitar for melancholy and synthesizers for everything else, with a very nice bass added because bass is always nice. The percussion in each track was written to be as organic and realistic as possible, but was played with an electronic drum pad.
All of the electronic instruments in these tracks come from Garageband. Anything else was recorded live.
