A satirical look at the current trajectory of the game industry. Open loot boxes, collect loot, equip cosmetics, face off against the dark lord, watch ads, take surveys, and slowly succumb to addiction.
Role: 3d Modeler/Animator
I was a 3d modeler and animator for a satirical game on loot boxes. The game was a statement on the current status of the game industry and lootboxes. My responsibilities included rigging and animating several lootboxes models for the game, creating accessories for the boxes, importing and exporting models from Blender to Unity, creating and designing the 2D images of the minibosses, 3d modelling and rigging the main protagonist and antagonist of the game (Todd the Samurai and RNGatchavarious), and finally designing the last level of the game, which is a bullet hell level.
This game was designed, prototyped, and created by a large team of students from University of California, Santa Cruz from September 2017 to June-July 2018. I was one of the people working on this, but was (unfortunately) not part of the initial design process.
