HoloTouch - Augmented Information on 3D Printed Objects
Opensource HoloTouch Unity package/project creates custom augmented visualizations over 3D printed models using Vuforia and Microsoft HoloLens.
The main motivation was to create a platform for researchers to conduct experiments testing collaborative tasks related to spatial or graph data between visually impaired and visually sound. The visually impaired can feel the tactile information from the 3D printed model to learn and ask questions about the information presented. The visually sound participant can view additional information that is augmented on top of the 3D printed model using the HoloLens.
The Vuforia package is used to track multiple image targets for redundancy since it is possible that that impaired person may block an image target while touching the 3D printed model.
