General concept

This challenge has given me the possibility to think of many things, firstly what are memories? What can I do with them? How can I show them?
For me memories are something very beautiful and precious, showing them to others is a choice not a duty and when I do it I must surprise those who look.
To do it, I created a "world" concept where memories are protected inside a chest like a treasure. If you will open it you will discover something amazing.

  1. Glass material
  2. Skybox on sphere with normals inverted
  3. Body Chest
  4. Doors with animation
This system can be replicated and implemented easily.It is functional to optimization. Lots of memories in a unique scene.
Next thing I thought is how to show memories. Only a static scene or in a loop... was not enough for create the surprise effect and satisfy users who loves to explore. To do this I created "the core trigger" a collider in trigger mode that can activate an action of the memories when the camera pass it through. This show the memories' core.

The HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER TRILOGY

This period for me was one of the strangest and gorgeous and crazy moment of my life, no words can describe the parties,the feelings and the memories.
I tried to show it to you!

1. DANCE IN THE RAIN

This memory talks about one of the best dance I've done, simply magical!


Critical points:
Creating a crowd of people that seems real, create enough number of animations, and give life to memory.


2. HOLIDAY TRIP

In this memory I tried to represent some of the travels I have done with my friends and the freedom I felt. In particular this trip was the beginning of a wonderful holiday.


Critical points:
-Making a credible flow of the landscape.
- I've created a lot of spawn points and waypoints and enough models for not boring the viewer.


3. INFINITE TALKING

It often happens to speak for hours of the future, of love, of music and of other things.
In this memory I was on the roof of an hotel with a girl and we spent all night talking of anithing.
If time didn't exist, I would still be there probably.



Critical points:
-Representing a valley and a big hotel ,the clouds helped me.
-To create the constellation I used a plane with .png file.

Final consideration
I loved to work on this project, I rediscovered a lot of details of my memories that I had lost.
Thanks.

Working time:
I spent 2 weeks thinking the concept, and one week and half working hard creating that.

Maya for Modelling, rigging and some animations,
Photoshop /Illustrator for texutures
Unity for all other stuff
