Doodle Defenders is a casual tower defense game that features hand-drawn ‘crayon style’ art and procedural monster and path generation. The purpose of creating Doodle Defenders was for my application to the Laguna College of Art and Design for their Art of Game Design MFA program. The entire game was created using Unity 3D by myself in seven months (approximately 250 hours) while working and attending school full time. A friend, José Herrera, reviewed the project for quality several times before submission. During development, I learned more about coding patterns, design documentation, sprite animation, pathfinding, and procedural generation.
