Augmented Reality: retail applications

Augmented reality to increase customer engagement
At the end of 2017, I started developing an AR application for the retail sector (specifically for shoe stores), in order to increase the interaction between the customer and the store itself, as well as providing complementary information about their products adding value to the company.
The concept starts from the creation of an application in which customers or interested parties can download on their smartphone, where they could interact with the cards and markers scattered around the store, bringing the screen with complementary information, 3D models, videos or even a small game for specific products .
Throughout the development, we used three main tools, Unity 2018, Vuforia and Blender.

I believe that, in an adequate and objective way, the augmented reality can bring numerous benefits to the company, not only to the retail sector but also to the health, education, travel and tourism sectors, motorsport, among others.

Between the 16th, 17th and 18th of August 2018, I had the opportunity to present at the 1st Carnaiba Expo, an entrepreneurs fair held in the city of Carnaiba -PE. There I introduced the concept of mixed reality, a junction between augmented and virtual reality.
