This is Charles Pearson, developer of the small indie game studio Haze Games. We are two here: Amélie Beaudroit as writer/game designer, and myself as game designer/developer.
We're super happy today, because we can now say that "yes, the game is ON"; it's live, it's new, it's finished, it's polished, ready to tickle your starving brains on Android, iPhone and iPad! It will be coming to Windows Phone next!
Mmmh... Maybe, you have never heard of this game... so... What is Fractal Space? First of all, here's the trailer to give you an idea:
Fractal Space is a first person platform & puzzle game. While playing it, you'll live an adventure of surviving traps, activating switches, cubes, teleporters, flying with your jetpack and using your taser-gun smartly to solve puzzles in a mysterious space station.
As a small team, it did take us two a while to release the final version. Amélie Beaudroit wrote the story & dialogs, and also worked with me on the game/level design. As indie developers, we've been working like crazy on this game on our spare time, beacuse we actually work for other people and companies to pay the bills.
After playtests, dialog recordings, level design brainstormings, presentations, hard decisions, bug fixes, Android and Unity 3D updates (Yaaaaay and GRRRRR simultaneously), we can say that the game is done.
What we have released is the Pocket Edition of the game. We will now be working on the longer, harder, and enhanced PC / consoles version of the game. You can follow the progress on ourOfficial Blog, the Steam Store page, our Facebook page, our Twitter account and Google+.
We've done so many changes and additions since the last time our players have played the demo. The graphics, the music, the story, the dialogs, the level design... even our Beta-testers have a few good surprises waiting for them!
We didn't want to spoil our best supporters - but now, we're so eager for you to play and post your comments!
We are very happy with the results, which is kind of a surprise. Yes, a surprise, because we've been working so long on this game that we know it by heart. However, there still are a few moments where our eyes glitter and we think "this is soooooo cool, people will love this". We truly hope you do, because we know how long some of you have been waiting!
We cross our stiffen fingers that you won't be disappointed!
This amazing work would not have been possible without the support of our players; some of you have been amazing, tracking the progress and bugs of every Beta-Testing update we did, sending us bug reports, some of you have volunteered to help translate the game in different languages.
Some of you even started donating whereas the game wasn't finished yet; so many of you have posted encouraging comments and ratings when we announced we'd be late releasing - believe me, it made a big difference!
Our fans and players have been very good at cheering us up when we were exhausted and tired or discouraged, so really - thank you! We wish you a few good hours of twisting your thumbs on the screen or pad, and challenging the deepest corners of your brain to find the solutions to our puzzles.
We hope to hear from you soon, but now it's time we leave you to it - while we get back to working on the "Non-Pocket Edition" on PC!
