I made an AR interaction system in Unity, utilizing ARKit.
The UX is simple, and includes the ability to pick up (hold), rotate, and scale AR objects, with a selection outline shader.
Goals
  • Create a easy to use object placement system in AR, which supports 3D placement.
  • Create a robust item system in which new AR content can be added.
Findings
  • The ability to "hold" and AR object by pressing down on the screen and releasing to let go is highly intuitive.
  • A visual indicator for the current selected object is necessary.
