A mobile game allowing a child to explore their natural environment using sensors
The concept was originally developed as a way to wrench a child away from their digital devices using peripheral sensors, forcing them to explore and interact with their environment to control the game. This technical and visual prototype allowed a player to control the time of day and wake the polar using the light sensor and sound sensor respectively. The proof of concept in the video is actually a series of pre-rendered after effects images being triggered by wifi connected sensors. In order to take the concept closer to its final technical form, the game was rebuilt in Unity and listened to sensors over a custom, no pairing required, bluetooth protocol. This was a 4 week build of a Unity dev and a hardware engineer building the sensors and custom communication protocol
