Welcome to the FPS Creators Group. As a new user you will find this group useful to interact with others who are also at their Unity learning beginnings. You will find Unity Staff and experienced developers around to help you with any of the issues that may arise during your learning process.

With this group you will be able to discuss, ask questions and show off your work based around the FPS Creators In-Editor Tutorial. Not only will you be able to interact with the group and see content shared from Unity, you can 'Join Discussion Channel' by clicking on the button at the top right of this page. This will allow you to interact with others through our messenger system in a chat exclusively related to the group.

We are incredibly excited to have you here, to help you in your journey with Unity and hope you have a lot of fun learning how to build games with us.

This looks like a lot of fun! also starting out using a template really encourages you to give the first steps and learn, and with the in editor tutorials is even easier and way more fun! You guys are doing an awesome job! Thanks!

Reply@Conner RamonI am so happy this is out! Just two questions, how do you add a new weapon and how do you get the controller inputs to work? Thanks! PS. I am using an Xbox controller
There is a Mod in the tutorials that will teach you how to create new loot like a weapon. It is called FPS Mod: New Loot Item from Destroying Enemies

Welcome everyone to the November Challenge. We had a great October Challenge and there were some incredible submissions for the spooky Halloween themed Challenge.

This time around however we are celebrating the launch of our new FPS tutorial and that means we are excited to see your work from it. The November Challenge will be based ONLY on the FPS Tutorial for Beginners. We are excited to see what you all come up with!

Happy Modding!

Also the easiest way to get it is through the Unity Hub. Launch Hub > select Learn > select FPS Microgame . GL!

Hey there I am trying to figure out a way to make it so that the enemies come to you from wherever you are whether they see you directly or not, is there a way to do it? There aren't a lot of comments on the enemy controller script so I wasn't certain what to modify. I tried just setting the detection range absurdly high which helps but they still need a direct line of sight to the player. Any ideas? Thanks

PS I also would like to remove the timeout function so that they indefinitely come a

hey all, I'm just trying to learn things as I go but theres an issue I have when playing my level. If I die and click try again it won't load the level with the changes that I've made to it, its just the default microgame. to actually try again I need to exit and rerun the game. anyone know how to fix this??

Hey Aaron, this is going to be detailed shortly in a soon to be released Creative Mod . If you can't wait, you can try it yourself with these limited instructions: Open the scene you've been working on; then go to build setting in the top navigation bar (File > Build Settings); in the Build Settings window find the button "Add Open Scenes" -- now you'll see your scene in the list along with the other scenes. Next you need to remap the 'game flow' for it to call your scene and not the default 'MainScene'. Open the 'IntroScene', and in the Hierarchy select the 'StartButton' game object (Canvas > StartButton) ; then in the Inspector, find the component 'Load Scene Button'; and change the 'Scene Name' property from 'Main Scene' to your own scene. Then do this for both the 'WinScene' and 'LoseScene', and you have now re-mapped the gameflow to launch your scene and not the default MainScene. GL!
