A couple years back I produced a tutorial on procedural terrain that is published on Lynda.com/LinkedInLearning.

Its 2D, real time processing, with cities with resolved roads, internal buildings, animated tiles, and memory for changes.

Please feel free to check it out: http://www.lynda.com/Unity-2D-tutorials/Unity-5-2D-Procedural-Terrain/397889-2.html

Hey - Adam from Procedural Worlds (Gaia, GeNa, CTS, Pegasus) here - have had a bit of an obsession with procedural generation since i was first exposed to it. If you would like i to chat procedural then feel free to join on our discord group here : https://discord.gg/hna3m

I've been investigating what it'd take to add procedural roads to procedurally generated terrain. An interesting article came out of a GDC presentation done by the Ghost Recon Wildlands team. Has anyone tried to reproduce some of these algorithms? Even if only experimental?

I just started doing the Unity Tutorials about 2 weeks ago. I got up to the first tutorial on the Hexagonal Grid today, but the Procedural Grid tutorial I did was a challenge, and I have been noticing the connection between maps, grids, etc. So I'm going to try and study from both perspectives. I intend to spend about four to six hours a day doing the tutorials, but I have already been noticing some other resources in here. I just watched a video for coding random maps. This is a challenge.

Here is a video about the algorithms they used to get these amazing dungeons in GALAK-Z. Full of useful informations and techniques you can use to get more interesting levels.
